April 11th, 2012Basic question,at least for me in my ignorance.Old paintball mask. I want the goggle lenses to be mirrored like Aviator sunglasses or a motorcycle visor. Is there a cheap and effective way for me to do that? Do I need any specific chemicals? Are those chemicals legal for me (15 years old) to buy w/o an adult present? At all in the first place?
Glasses – Why does it have to be form over function?
March 15th, 2012About a year ago my girlfriend talked me into buying glasses that were "in style". You know the small, rectangle lenses that are all the rage. She has grown kids 22-30 who laughed at my 80′s style glasses so she paid for me to have the "in style" frames. The cold hard truth is for the last year I have no been wearing them. Why? Well, the "in style" lenses block my peripheral vision. I can not see the GPS navigator speedometer, or mirrors unless I turn my head..
We went to Eye-masters last night and I almost had to ask her to leave the store. I could pick out some frames that I can actually see out of and fall within the budget that my insurance covers in about 5 min. She kept steering me back to the "stylish" hard to see out of frames that cost 3x the price of what I want.
I manged to strike a compromise. So now I have some aviator prescription shades (for driving), and some somewhat stylish, but more functional clear glasses to use at my desk.
Seriously there must be a lot of people who have fallen down stairs, or have been in major traffic accidents who look very in-style lying in a hospital bed. Why? Because their in style glasses give them tunnel vision. Am I right?
I live in Phoenix. Contrary to what the world is lead to believe, the air is really bad here. So my allergies do not permit me to wear contacts.

January 2nd, 2012I’m going to buy Ray Ban’s Aviators and I’d like to ask a little something in case the optician doesn’t know about the recommendations for aviation.
Now, I’ve been told to avoid polarized lenses, and I reckon grey is one of the optimal colors because the color distortion is minimal.
What I’d more specifically want to know is, are mirror lenses acceptable?
I’ve heard that the best kinds pilots’ glasses should have some kind of anti reflective coating. Is this true?
Furthermore, isn’t mirror just the opposite of this anti reflective coating?
Oh, and any additional information will be appreciated.

My favorite style of sunglasses to wear are either in tortoiseshell, or vintage 70′s aviator glasses. I mainly wear the Rayban Wayfer styled sunglasses but in tortoiseshell style, but my favorite are aviators, especially in tan shades, depicting from the 70′s era. What about you guys?
